Flight Redemption Booking Change Terms & Conditions:

  • Changes are subject to the AIR MLES® Reward Program availability.
  • Cancellations, refunds, or name changes are not permitted and the AIR MLES® Reward Program is unable to issue future flight credits.
  • The ability to make changes to flight dates and/or times and origin and/or destination depends upon the rules of the airline booked. Some bookings may not allow changes.
  • Changes must be made with the same airline used on the original booking.
  • An AIR MILES® Service Fee of $25 + GST will apply for each passenger*.
  • Collectors are also responsible to pay additional airline change fees. Change fees vary by airline and can range from $30 to more than $200 depending upon destination. All fees are per person and subject to change.
  • Changes may require the usage of additional AIR MLES® reward miles in the event of a change in origin and/or destination or a change in flight date(s).
  • AIR MILES® reward miles will not be refunded in the event of a change resulting in the usage of fewer reward miles.
  • Changes may be made up to 4 hours prior to departure of originally scheduled flight. Changes for travel on Sunday, or when the AIR MILES® Reservation Change Group is closed, must be made Monday to Saturday during the operating hours of the AIR MILES® Reservation Change Group. Failure to contact the AIR MILES® Reservation Change Group to change flight prior to departure may result in a canceled ticket invalid for any future travel.
  • Booking rules such as advance booking and Saturday night stay may be applicable to the changed flight booking.

Flight booked without using AIR MILES® reward miles

Travel Insurance

Your corresponding AIR MILES Travel Insurance change can be made at time of flight, car or hotel change. Insurance cost may increase according to travel changes. Insurance Policy is non-refundable and is non-transferable.

Q: I made an error when I booked my travel arrangements. How do I make a correction?
A: Corrections can be made through the AIR MILES® Reservation Change Group (1-888-AIR MILES). Changes are subject to availability and the terms & condition of the travel supplier. An AIR MILES Service Fee of $25 + GST will apply per airline ticket or per car/hotel reservation*. Other supplier related fees may apply.

Q: I want to make a change to my flight that is leaving tomorrow but the AIR MILES® Reservation Change Group is closed. What can I do?
A: All Changes must be made during the operating hours of the AIR MILES® Reservation Change Group. In emergency situations, such as illness or death, when the AIR MILES® Reservation Change Group is closed and will not re-open before your departure time, please call the airline directly for your change options. Changes will be restricted to the AIR MILES® Reward Program availability and airlines will only make changes in emergency situations. All other change inquiries must be directed to AIR MILES® Reservation Change Group.

 

Q. What happens if I do not change my ticket prior to departure and I miss my flight?
A: Your booking will be canceled automatically and your AIR MILES® reward miles will not be refunded. Future travel, including your return trip, is forfeited.

 

Q. I can't travel on my current dates but I don't have my new dates ¿ what can I do?
A. To make a change to your current reservation new dates are required and AIR MILES® seat inventory must be available. Travel credits for future credit cannot be issued.

 

Q. Can I change my flight destination?
A. All airlines have a different policy regarding a change in destination. Some airlines booked by the AIR MILES® Reward Program will allow this change while others will not. If you would like to change your destination, please contact the AIR MILES® Reservation Change Group to review your options.

 

Q. Can I cancel my booking and put the AIR MILES® reward miles back into my account?
A. Unfortunately bookings cannot be canceled and AIR MILES® reward miles cannot be refunded.

 

Q. When should I call to make a change?
A. It is recommended that you contact the AIR MILES® Reservation Change Group as soon as you know you cannot travel. The further in advance you make your change the better your chance in finding availability for your new travel dates. All changes must be made within the AIR MILES® Reservation Change Group hours of operation (Monday to Friday 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. (Eastern Time) and Saturday from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. (Eastern Time)).

 

Q. I purchased insurance and now I need to change/cancel my insurance, what do I do?
A. In the event you need to change your insurance because you are now changing your travel plans, please call the AIR MILES® Reservation Change Group who will be able to assist you (1-888-AIR MILES). Your insurance can be transferred to the new dates of travel. Please note that some pricing adjustments may be required if your trip length has been extended or the price of your trip has increased.

 

Q. I can no longer go on my trip as planned and I have insurance. What are my options?
A. Your AIR MILES® reward miles and taxes will be refunded if the reason for the cancellation of your travel plans is a covered risk. Please refer to your insurance policy (or contact Pottruff & Smith at 1 866 298 6581) for clarification on whether you are covered. You must then file a claim. Alternatively you can utilize the AIR MILES® change fee option and transfer your insurance to your newly selected dates of travel. The change fee option is also available to you if the insurance does not cover your reason for cancellation.

 

Q. I have purchased travel insurance; will this cover the change fees?
A. If you need to change for a reason that is covered under your insurance policy (page 27), your AIR MILES® reward miles and taxes will be refunded through your insurance policy. You can then rebook your new flight through AIR MILES®. Your ticket is canceled and then re-booked thus change fees will not apply.

 

Q. Why should I purchase insurance if I can potentially change my AIR MILES® booking?
A. The change fee is a great option to have in conjunction with AIR MILES® Travel Insurance. The two works together to give you total protection for your trip in the event of circumstances that could prevent you from traveling or require you to come home early. If you need to cancel for a covered risk, you have the flexibility of canceling your flight, and receiving your miles and taxes back, without the restriction of finding AIR MILES® inventory. You can then rebook for another date that is convenient to you and your family and there is no need to pay a change fee. AIR MILES® Travel Insurance also offers many other benefits that are not covered by the change fee. These include Emergency Medical coverage, Visit to Bedside benefit, lost, stolen or damaged baggage compensation and air flight accident. The change fee can be used in the event a situation arises that is not covered by the policy and changes your vacation plans.

 

Q. I purchased insurance and now I want to cancel my policy. What can I do?
A. Once insurance is booked it is non refundable. There are no cancellations or refunds except for the provisions in the insurance policy booklet (see page 45).
